Event Details: The Centre for Business Advancement and Research (CBAR), in partnership with Advancing Canadian Entrepreneurship (ACE) and the Odette School of Business at the University of Windsor, is pleased to host the first Windsor-Essex Region Angel Roundtable on Thursday, December 6, 2007. This invitation only event will provide the opportunity for local investors to provide insight and valuable feedback as to what should be established in the Windsor-Essex Region to help support and grow high-potential new business ventures. The day will be facilitated by Bob Renaud, Executive-in-Residence at the Odette School of Business. Our guest speakers include Patrick Lor, Chris Arsenault and Stu Sutton, who will discuss the funding environment, opportunities for idea generation, and the operational need for angel investment in Canada and Windsor. We showcase local high growth ventures seeking Angel support in the form of guidance and/or investment. The highlight of the day will include 'pitchcamp' with two upcoming Windsor-Essex ventures: Miceli Technologies, presented by Carlo Miceli; and Sharp Biofuels Inc., presented by Kelso Sharp. There will be future opportunities for high growth local businesses to pitch for angel investment. We intend to host the second roundtable in February 2008. Entrepreneurs with high growth business opportunities in new technologies are urged to contact Dr. Francine Schlosser at the Centre for Business Advancement and Research (CBAR) for potential inclusion in the February pitchcamp (email: fschloss@uwindsor.ca phone: 519.252.3000 ext 4627).
