My name is Zhanna Khan and I am in my fourth year of Business Administration program at University of Windsor. Two years ago I was transferred from Kazakh-German University where I pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree with concentration in Finance. I have decided to continue my education in the financial field because it gives me the opportunity to explore particular areas I am interested ub behavioural finance and stock market volatility. During the last four years I have gained the necessary skills and knowledge that allow me to perform a reasonable assessment of the stock markets and provide rational recommendations. After graduation I am planning to continue my education and obtain a masters degree in addition to the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) certificate and the Charter Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Over the last years I have been volunteering in several organizations. Particularly, I was one of the leaders in the Korean Youth organization in Kazakhstan. I was an initiator and coordinator of the first regional leadership competition among high-school students. I established partner relations with a community press and cultural centres, monitored the performance of the members, and promoted values and importance of the organization to the community. Additionally, I have volunteered for the Fools for Health Charity in Windsor. I organized two fundraiser events with the help of University of Windsor students. During last summer, I worked as a Customer Representative in the Credit Card department in Kazcommertsbank, one of the major banks in Kazakhstan. I consulted customers and promoted bank products, prepared reports and evaluated clientele records. This invaluable experience allowed me to enhance my social interaction, analytical, leadership and teamwork skills. Moreover it gave me a strong understanding of the bank system as an entity and provided the opportunity to gain the personal insight of a company’s working environment.
In my free time I enjoy horseback riding and oil painting as well as reading historic books and self-learning photography guides.
