In 2007, I graduated from Lambton College of Applied Arts & Technology with a 3-year Accounting Diploma. After this, I transferred into the University of Windsor’s Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) Program with a concentration in Accounting and my expected graduation date is August 2009. Subsequent to graduation it is my intention to complete the requirements of the Chartered Accountant designation.
During the 2008/09 school year, I was employed by Certified General Accountants Ontario, as the liaison at the University. Also, I was the fourth-year representative on the Honourary Accounting Society, and I am a referee with the Ontario Minor Hockey Association. One of my passions involves volunteering with the Canadian Blood Services, and I am also an active donor as well. I have participated in the Universities Volunteer Internship Program (VIP), which is a program designed to provide students the opportunity to gain experience and I have also had the privilege of sitting on the VIP interview selection board twice, conducting interviews. At the current time, I am employed with the University’s Development Office, as an Alumni Canvasser collecting funds to create more opportunities for students and the community. This past year, I was on a University intramural hockey team, which was a great team building experience for me, especially because I am a huge hockey fan. I love living in Windsor, as I am a Detroit Red Wing fan, and I get to make it to more of the games, than I would otherwise. Overall, I hope that my work/volunteer diversity will contribute significantly to CBAR and I can add to its continued success.
