My name is Agnes Wilk and I am a fourth year business student concentrating in finance and economics. While at the University of Windsor I have gained a copious amount of knowledge through internships, volunteer work, and through my studies.
Currently, I am a Management Assistant at the Ambassador Duty Free Store. I handle a broad range of assignments. My typical responsibilities include analyzing sales figures, creating marketing literature, tracking inventory, completing payroll, and performing various human resource tasks. While working at the store, I created and implemented a system for improving customer service and employee recognition. In recognition of my outstanding work and effort, I received a scholarship from the Frontier Duty Free Association.
Through the co-op program at the University of Windsor, I had the opportunity to work as a Management Trainee for the National Bank of Canada. One of my most significant contributions to the bank was made through a market research project where I collected and analyzed data pertaining to the advertising tendencies of direct competitors of the bank. The data collected was tabulated and graphed using Microsoft Excel. The tables and graphs generated allowed me to clearly and concisely present my findings in a presentation that was shown to the branch manager, then to other managers at the bank headquarters in Toronto.
I also had an internship as a Financial Analyst at Nemak of Canada Corporation. During my work term I was responsible for creating and generating multifaceted financial reports using Microsoft Access, Excel, and SAP for Windsor Aluminum Plant, Essex Aluminum Plant, and the General Motors Expansion. Additionally, I supported the finance department with weekly and monthly tasks, developed and maintained a safety implementation website for manufacturing leaders, and contributed to the improvement of data collection and reporting outputs.
As a University of Windsor student and a resident of Windsor, Ontario, I am dedicated to the community through volunteer work with Revenue Canada and a strong commitment to the CBAR.
