My name is Shaoye Dai, and I am a second-year law student at University of Windsor, Faculty of Law. My concentration is in business law. I was employed as an in-house lawyer in China Construction Bank for two years and in CNOOC (China National Offshore Oil Corporation) Fujian LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) project for four years. I have experience in drafting, negotiating, and finalizing contracts valuing several hundred million US dollars. In the past two summers, I was invited to have acted as legal consultant for two other CNOOC LNG projects. 

From my prior experience, especially the contract negotiation experience I obtained, I noticed that IP related clauses are always one of the key issues on the negotiation table. That’s why I have great interest in IPLIN/CBAR. I am currently Research Assistant to Professor Margaret Liddle for her Legal Research & Writing course, which was my favorite course last year. This year, I am also VP Speaker & Events for International Law Society, a student law club at Windsor Law.
