Hello, my name is Jerry Phan, I have lived in Toronto for most of my life but I have also lived in Windsor and Tilbury. I am in my last semester as a fourth year student at the University of Windsor. I am currently enrolled as a candidate for my Bachelor of Commerce, my focus of study lies in the areas of Business Administration, Economics and Finance. I intend to write my CFA level I exam in September 2010, this will be the first step towards earning my CFA designation.

In the past I have worked in a variety of different industries that include social dynamics consulting, food, moving services, computers and financial services. I have strong communication, computer and social skills. I obtained my LLQP certification (Life Licensing Qualification Program) at the age of 18 (minimum age to write LLQP exam). I am fluent in Vietnamese and familiar with most Vietnamese customs.

Growing up I had to move frequently because of family circumstances, as a result I was placed in situations where I was forced to constantly interact and build rapport with new people on a regular basis. I come from an entrepreneurial  family. Within school I have previously organized a charity fundraiser working in coordination with University of Windsor students, Golden Key International Honour Society Windsor Chapter and its charity called Golden Future.

During my free time I often look for good businesses to invest in, constantly evaluate financial statements, historical performance and evaluation of management. I also enjoy reading self-help / improvement, cook, investing and non-fiction books.

I believe my robust background will act to complement my skills and education in order to get results. I hope that CBAR will enable me to learn and do more, gain valuable real life experience, contribute to society at large, help stimulate Windsor’s economy and create valuable business relationships. I look forward to working with others to produce results.
