My name is Ashley Vodarek and I am currently in my fourth year of study as a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) Business Administration student at the University of Windsor, with a concentration in Marketing and a minor in Psychology. In my many years at the University I have always been involved in extra curricular activities to enhance my experience and learning. I have been a member of the student elected Odette Commerce Society in various positions for four years and have found my way into my current position as VP of External Affairs for the second year running. Within my years on the Commerce Society I have put together an annual fundraiser for underprivileged children for a local public school, planned many events including our Undergraduate Business Formal, as well as secured sponsorship for our student Welcome Week event. Beyond this I am also a member of the University of Windsor Marketing Association and the Golden Key International Honours Society.

As of this past summer I have gained work experience in a wide range of areas including promotions, public relations, advertising, and marketing research through my employment with Blackburn Radio. I was part of the promotions team for one of their stations, the Mix 96.7, and conducted marketing research for this station as well. Through my work experience there I have also been able to enhance my knowledge in advertising and skills for public relations. Much of my job consisted of interacting with the public and representing an image of the company to the community, attempting to secure and increase their listener base. I now have a strong understanding of media relations and have continued my employment with the company.

With what I have learned through all of my experiences thus far I feel that CBAR will be yet another great endeavor that will help me to develop my abilities even further as move towards the MBA program. I am certainly eager to bring the skills I have acquired to the table and committed to achieving the goals and mission of CBAR.
