Building upon 15 years of business experience in auditing, logistics and business development, Francine Schlosser received her Ph.D. from the University of Waterloo in June 2005. Now an Associate Professor in Management at the University of Windsor, she researches individual and interpersonal factors influencing strategy related to marketing, human resources, entrepreneurship, and the adoption of technology. This inter-functional focus has allowed her scholarly contribution to cross traditional boundaries between business areas. Her articles have been published in academic journals including the Journal of Organizational Behavior, the Journal of Strategic Marketing, the Journal of Business Research, and the Journal of Managerial Psychology. She has twice earned the Odette New Researcher Award (2006; 2008) and, in 2009 her research (co-authored with Dr. Marjorie Armstrong-Stassen at Odette) was honoured with the Verity Award for Overall Outstanding Paper in Management from the Canadian Journal of Administrative Science. She is currently conducting a series of SSHRC funded studies on the relationship between entrepreneurs and their key employees.

She has written many business cases and many have received awards and recognition at academic conferences. Her cases have covered areas such as leadership, strategy, marketing, research methods, entrepreneurship, HRM, technology and engineering project management and have been published in textbooks and distributed through Ivey, Laurier, and the Society for Human Resource Management in the United States. Additionally she has consulted for and delivered workshops on communication and creativity for a variety of organizations.

Dr. Schlosser is also Director of the Centre for Business Advancement and Research (winter term); a student outreach centre providing market research and business plan development. She founded the Centre with 20 undergraduate and graduate business students in 2006. She and Law Professor, Myra Tawfik have won external grants to deliver business and legal education clinics and entrepreneurial mentoring to New Canadians and, in 2008-09 to develop a Youth Entrepreneurship Program targeting post-secondary students.

She enjoys living in beautiful Windsor, with her husband, Greg, three teenage sons, Paul, Mark, and Michael and their wheaton terrier, Whole Wheat Muffin.
