Dr. Conway graduated with a Doctorate in Business Policy from the Harvard Business School, an M.B.A. from the Ivey School at Western Ontario, and a B.B.A. from St. Francis Xavier University . He is currently the Dean of the Odette School of Business at the University of Windsor, a position he has occupied since July, 2005. Just previously he was Associate Dean of MBA Programs and Associate Dean of Executive Programs at the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary where he taught executive and MBA courses on corporate and competitive strategy. He has consulted for a wide variety of organizations and companies, including Enbridge, Textron, NAL Resources, EnCana, Standard & Poor, University of Northern British Columbia, and the APEC Financiers Group. Besides Canada, Dr. Conway has taught executive programs in the Bahamas, Belgium, Brazil, India, Iran, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Thailand, and the United States. Previous to joining academia, Dr. Conway held management positions with London Life Insurance, Scott Paper Co., and Global Television. Dr. Conway has authored or co-authored four books. He also led a team of 14 University scholars selected from across Canada on a research study of Canada-Japan business interactions which led to the book Canadian Companies in Japan: lessons from experience. His current interests include the role of the CEO, corporate governance, and competition in the MBA Industry. One of his current research papers is an examination of the executive succession experience among major Canadian public companies. Dr. Conway has been heavily involved internationally in promoting program innovation and strategic thinking among MBA programs. For example, he was chair of the MBA Leadership Conference a number of times between 2000 and 2004 and was a charter member of the planning committee and conference faculty for the AACSB MBA Emerging Curriculum Conferences. Dr. Conway is a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of the MBA Roundtable, which counts 200 of the leading business schools in the world as members, and, until recently, served as President of the Harvard Business School Club of Calgary and as a member of the Entrepreneur-in-Residence Steering Committee at Calgary Technologies, Inc. In 2003, he served as a member of the Industrial Cluster Strategy Steering Committee for the City of Calgary. He currently serves as a member of the Canadian Research Leaders Education Steering Committee, the International Truck Research & Development Advisory Board, and of the Boards of Directors of the Harvard Business School Club of Michigan and the Windsor-Essex County Economic Development Commission. Dr. Conway was the 2001-2002 recipient of the University of Calgary MBA Student Society Award for Outstanding Teaching and Learning.
